Home closing timeline in Collin County, Texas from contract to keys

How Long Does It Take to Close on a Home in Collin County?

October 15, 2026•1 min read

The short answer

Many purchases close in about 30 to 45 days from the signed contract, though it depends on the loan type, the appraisal and how fast documents come in. A well-prepared buyer can often move faster.

The timeline

  1. Contract signed. Earnest money goes to the title company.

  2. Loan application and disclosures. We lock your rate if you choose.

  3. Appraisal and inspection. The appraisal is ordered and the home inspection takes place during the option period.

  4. Underwriting. The lender reviews your file and may ask for more documents.

  5. Clear to close. Final numbers are issued.

  6. Closing. You sign, fund and get the keys.

How to keep it moving

  • Send documents quickly.

  • Do not open new credit or make large unexplained deposits.

  • Do not change jobs without talking to us first.

  • Keep your phone on. Underwriters ask questions.
